Janet B. McGill is Associate Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine and Attending Consultant at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She has been active in clinical research for nearly 20 years, beginning with the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial and the Captopril in Diabetic Nephropathy study. She has continued to work on multi-centered trials in diabetes treatments, prevention and complications such as retinopathy, nephropathy and neuropathy.
Dr. McGill serves on the ADA Eastern Missouri Advisory Board and has been a member of the steering committee for the Kidney Early Evaluation Program. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles and chapters and is on the editorial boards for Endocrine Today, the Journal of the CardioMetabolic Syndrome and the International Diabetes Monitor. In addition to studying treatment and prevention methods for diabetes, Dr. McGill’s research interests include depression, metabolic syndrome, anti-inflammation and fuel metabolism of the myocardium among diabetic patients.
