Roslyn Yomtovian is Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Yomtovian received her medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed her residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Minnesota Hospitals.
She has been a reviewer and is currently on the editorial review board for Transfusion, an AABB publication discussing science and policy of blood transfusions and related topics. She is also a reviewer for The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, a peer-reviewed publication on orthopaedic surgery and research.
Dr. Yomtovian has authored numerous articles regarding transfusion-related bacterial contamination, infection detection, blood storage practices and hemolytic anemia. Her co-authored chapter with Dr. Erica M. Wood for Transfusion Reactions, 3rd Edition discusses complications and safety of autologous transfusion techniques. Also, she gives many addresses and presentations each year to national and regional blood bank associations and clinical pathology organizations.
Dr. Yomtovian is currently on the board of directors with the LifeShare Community Blood Bank in Elyria, Ohio and was formerly director of the St. Cloud Hospital blood bank in Minnesota and the University Hospitals of Cleveland Blood Bank in Ohio.
