Roslyn Yomtovian

Roslyn Yomtovian graduated from Washington University School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine internship at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. She went on to the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics where she completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology followed by a fellowship in Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine.

Upon completion of her training she worked as a Pathologist and Director of the Blood Bank at St. Cloud Hospital, St. Cloud, Minnesota. She then moved to Case University Hospitals Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio as Director of the Blood Bank-Transfusion Medicine Service continuing until September, 2005.

Dr. Yomtovian now serves as Adjunct Professor, Department of Pathology (Transfusion Medicine), Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, is a National VA Quality Scholar Fellow at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, and is enrolled in the Master of Public Health Program at Case Western Reserve University. She lectures and writes widely on subjects related to blood safety and transfusion optimization. Her professional goals are to continue to improve the public health by improving the safety of blood and the process of transfusion therapy; and, to confront the challenge of balancing blood collection and transfusion supply to a demographically changing population.
