Sherri Ozawa, RN

Sherri Ozawa, RN, has been dedicated to the field of patient blood management for the last thirteen years. She was the original Director of The New Jersey Institute for the Advancement of Bloodless Medicine and Surgery at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, where she continues to serve in the role of Director of Clinical and Program Development. She has been instrumental at implementing hospital wide efforts at the detection and prevention of anemia, as well as creating an organized approach to anemia management in all hospitalized patients. Her background in critical care nursing enabled her to help create one of the largest multidisciplinary blood management programs in the world. She has lectured throughout the United States and internationally, with a particular focus on the nursing aspects of anemia and patient blood management. She has published numerous articles on the subject, and continues to be actively involved in research in the field.
