Wayne Levy

Wayne C. Levy, MD, board certified in cardiology, is Associate Professor of Cardiology and a physician at the End-Stage Heart Failure/Cardiac Transplantation Service at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University in California, where he was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha. He then completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

Dr. Levy has contributed significantly to the medical literature on his clinical and research activities and is coauthor of the recent journal article “Anemia predicts mortality in severe heart failure: The Prospective Randomized Amlodipine Survival Evaluation,” which appeared in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Levy is an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He is a reviewer for many leading journals, including Circulation, Journal of Nuclear Medicine, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and an abstract reviewer for the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation. Dr. Levy is the recipient of numerous industry, foundation, and federally-sponsored research grant awards and currently serves as Principal Investigator for the Amgen-funded protocol, Development of Heart Failure Risk score to predict mortality. His funded projects also include publication of Hypertension Heart Profiler: An internet-based individualized patient information program for hypertension developed under a contract from the American Heart Association. He has also lectured extensively on such topics as hypertension, cardiovascular aging, and new perspectives in heart failure management at medical centers, Grand Rounds, and medical associations.

Dr. Levy is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a recipient of the Walter E. MacPherson Award for Research.
