NAAC posts events relating to conferences, meetings, published research and education involving anemia and/or NAAC experts.
The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) will host a free “HealthLine” conference call for patients titled Anemia: Signs, Symptoms and Treatment Options on November 4, 2009 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. ET.
On the call will be Dr. Russell Silverman, a nephrologist based out of Dallas, TX, and Dr. Tejas Desai, Assistant Professor of Nephrology at the Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University. They will discuss the following points:
- Definition of anemia
- Understanding signs and symptoms of anemia as it relates to chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients
- Diagnosis of anemia
- Review of medical tests and lab values
- Available treatment options for anemia
There will be a 15 minute question and answer session following the presentation.
