NAAC Releases Clinical Trials Resource for Patients and Professionals
MILWAUKEE, WI – The National Anemia Action Council (NAAC) released a clinical trials resource for patients and medical professionals today on their website, www.anemia.org.
The new website section Clinical Trials was released to provide links to ongoing clinical trials, help patients become more knowledgeable about the role of clinical trials, and to supply reliable information which medical professionals can recommend to their patients. The resource is separated into two parts, one for patients and one for medical professionals and researchers.
The Clinical Trials portion for patients answers basic questions about clinical trials and links visitors to lists of anemia-related clinical trials which are currently recruiting volunteers. The links to pre-set searches pull up-to-date information from the National Institutes of Health’s website, www.clinicaltrials.gov.
For medical professionals, the resource encourages them to recommend the companion portion of the section to their patients and provides pre-set searches of anemia-related clinical trials. Notably, the pre-set searches return a list of clinical trials either currently recruiting or ongoing under the subjects of anemia, cancer and anemia, iron deficiency anemia and renal anemia.
NAAC is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization providing expert, in-depth information about anemia to medical professionals, patients, caregivers, students, researchers, writers and the media. Dedicated to raising awareness of the prevalence, symptoms, consequences, and treatment options of anemia through education, the organization offers many services on its website, www.anemia.org.
